Are you ready for the summer? We are fortunate enough to live where
it is summer weather all year round. However, there is something about
the season that says Good Times! Summer time is for the beaches,
vacations, boating, barbecuing, outdoor festivals and pool parties or
just spending time with friends and family. There are a million choices to
choose how you’ll spend your summer, so it is best to plan and create a
Summer Bucket List. This is why we asked a few locals to share their list
with us starting on page 26.
In this issue, we are summer focused. Coach Forbes keeps you staying sexy
over the summer, Dr. Deepak and Raquel Gibson teach us how and why we
should protect our skin and our Fashion-Forward contributor Kristin Wright
shows how to stand out and look your best this summer. On page 40 learn
how to spend a whole day on the Riverwalk or page 16 read why it’s okay
to take a vacation in our Suits & Sneaks section. Have you ever heard the
saying you are what you eat? How about you are what you eat is eating?

This issue is jammed packed with great stuff, so I won’t spoil alert the whole
issue but definitely read our Rants and Raves to learn about The Collection
and the rockstars behind the concept. How often can you talk a 5-Star Chef
to give up one of their secret recipes? We did, and on page 10 Cena’s Chef
Michael lays out the step by step on his Lambrusco Brined Pork Belly with
Porcini Spaghetti Pie and pairs it with this summer’s cocktail the Negroni
Finally, if there is one event you won’t want to miss this summer, it would be
the 3-day SKEL ART EXHIBIT & FASHION by Jason Skeldon, presented by
The District Magazine. The event location is Aloft Hotel Downtown Tampa
