Xuan Hurt , or “ Sing ” as she ’ s affectionately known , has called Tampa her hometown after immigrating here from Vietnam with her family when she was two years old . She entered the hospitality industry during college where she discovered her love of excellent food and creative concepts . She and her husband are the proprietors of Anise Global Gastrobar , a trendy fusion restaurant that features craft cocktails in downtown Tampa in the Arts District . She and her team currently have a handful of projects in the works , including North Star Eatery ; a quick serve concept located in the Hall on Franklin slated to open this fall . She is also proud to be a partner at the upcoming Bakes ’ n Babes Dessert Shop .
Her hunger for knowledge led her to getting her license and joining the team at Urban Living Tampa Bay Real Estate , specializing in South Tampa and Downtown homes for sale and rent .
Sing believes that her life experiences , trade knowledge and work ethic should be used to help give back to the community . She proudly serves on the board of BeatNB , an organization dedicated to beating neuroblastoma childhood cancer . She actively participates in numerous organizations and events , including The Downtown Partnership , South Tampa Chamber of Commerce , Pride & Passion , New Town Connections , Gasparilla Music Fest and Tampa Theatre Wine Fest .

What excites you most about life ? There are endless things to learn .
Tell us one thing most people do not know about you ? I dream that I can fly so often that sometimes I try to levitate in real life .
If you were granted one wish , what would it be ? That Love really did rule the world .
What do you love most about Tampa ? I love that Tampa is a relatively big city with a small town feel .
What is your favorite non-work related hobby ? I love reading Adult Fantasy & Science Fiction
What is your most memorable awkward moment ? I completely blanked on a speech at a competition when I was ten . It makes public speaking a lot less scary for me now , because I figure I can ’ t do worse .
