Owner and Founder,

Nicole grew up in Sarasota, FL
after moving from Long Island, NY
at a young age. She always had a
knack for technology and fixing
computers, which led her to a career
in Information Technology. As time
passed, she realized that her true
passion was in the cosmetics/beauty
industry and started thinking of
ways she could try to incorporate
it into her profession. When she
realized computers and makeup
didn't really mix, she decided to find
another way.
What started as an innocent
makeover at the Lancome counter
for the 8th grade dance; Nicole
began to mimic makeup artist's
work and became infatuated with
buying, wearing and reading about
makeup from that point on. Her
ultimate dream was to have her
own brand that would be shared
with girls who had the same passion
for cosmetics. When her longtime
friend (turned business partner)
challenged her to move forward
with the business one night in DC,
her dreams soon became reality.
She started researching the industry,
working with labs and found the
perfect graphic designer who
brought her brand image to life...
and the rest is history.
She now runs Caked Makeup full
time and is still pinching herself
(probably while you're reading this)
that this is real life.

Who is Nicole in three words?
Driven,
creative,
productive
procrastinator (get it?)
What excites you most about life?
Being able to do what I love with
having the support and love from
my family, boyfriend and friends to
back it up.
Tell us one thing most people do
not know about you?
I played the piano for 6 years and
refused to do almost every public
recital we had. I really hate having
to perform in front of people like
that.
What inspires you to do what you
do?
I’ve been in love with everything
related to the beauty industry from
a really young age. I started my
company because I love not only
makeup, but also everything that
comes along with it: the branding,
styling/trends, graphic design,
marketing, etc. Getting feedback
and interacting with our customers
on social media is also rewarding.
It’s so fun to see people posting
pictures wearing our lip products or
talking about the brand. I’m always
striving to improve and perfect our
products and constantly looking at
what’s next-- I am so blessed that
I am able to do this and I can’t
believe it’s real life! It’s so insane
to hear girls tell me that our Lip
Fondants are their favorite liquid
lipsticks they own. It’s the coolest
feeling in the world.
If you were granted one wish,
what would it be?
Honestly, I want to be able to eat
whatever I want at all times and
have it count as nutritious calories.
(I’m looking at you pizza and
chocolate cake).
What is your most memorable
awkward moment?
When I used to work for a
professional sports team in Tampa,
part of my job was to run one of
their social media pages (before it
really started to become the norm
for businesses). One night, I was out
with my friends having some drinks
and sushi at The Rack (RIP). At one
point during the evening, my friend
took my phone and was uploading
our pictures online, which I didn’t
think anything of. However, what
I didn’t realize was that I was still
logged into the team’s account. All
of our pictures were front and center
on their Facebook page the entire
night. That was a pretty awkward
conversation with my director.
