The Discerner
Claire Newman-Williams
Claire Newman-Williams was born and raised in the UK and moved
to America in 1988. She worked primarily as a portrait photographer
with her work appearing in national and international publications.
Returning to the UK in 2005, she began working with alternative
processes and old cameras, blending photographs with old text to
produce intensely personal multi-media pieces which address the
recurrent themes of the smothering of identity and our fear of being
seen - truly seen - by those around us.
