The Discerner Camille Walala Beginning her career as a textile designer, Camille Walala specialises in transforming spaces with a vibrant blend of colour and pattern. Seen in venues and adorning buildings across London, Sydney, New York and beyond, her designs are instantly recognisable, explode with energy and are engineered to evoke a smile in anyone who sees them. Camille is influenced by the work of the Memphis Group, South Africa’s Ndebele tribe and op-art pioneer Victor Vasarely, but her gleefully asymmetric patterns and eye-popping approach to colour are entirely her own. Her clients include schools, festivals, clubs, and international brands, and she is always on the lookout for larger-scale spaces to transform. Soon, we’ll all be living in Walaland – and a good thing too: it’s a happy place. “Zebra crossing 1” - POA Media: Acrylic on wood Size: A1 1/25 print signed “Zebra crossing 2” - POA Media: Acrylic on wood Size: A1 1/25 print signed “BBH” - £200 Media: Acrylic on wood Size: A1 1/25 print signed “Dreams come true Building”- £200 Media: Acrylic on wood Size: A1 1/25 print signed T: 07984742177 6 “In Da House N 2” - £200 Media: Acrylic on wood Size: A1 1/25 print signed E: [email protected] THE DISCERN ER/ N OVEMBER 2016 / w w w . thediscerner. com “In Da House N 3” - £200 Media: Acrylic on wood Size: A1 1/25 print signed W: www.camillewalala.com © 2016 The Discerner Ltd.
