Christopher Engel is an American artist . His work has been exhibited in the USA and abroad , and is part of numerous private collections . Engel ’ s work is characterized by powerful brush strokes and vibrant colors , weaving many layers of meaning into a single image . Both abstract and figurative , a positive energy vibrates throughout the work . Engel states : “ My work attempts to capture archetypal images , drawing the viewer into a communication with the ancient , metaphysical and transcendent . These images have appeared throughout history - in the first marks of our ancestors , on cave walls , on trees , in the sand – messages that though we are only passing through this life momentarily , we each are a part of something that never ends .
