SITE 1
Photo 1 shows a severely eroding vertical streambank before works began. Photos 2 and 3 show the bank regraded to a stable slope and a timber pile field installed. Not visible are rock chute drains and bunds designed to manage overland flow.
Revegetation plays a vital role in controlling gully erosion. Along two kilometres of remediated streambank on Station Creek, more than 2,850 native plants were planted, supported by more than 13km of irrigation piping.
SITE 2
Photo 1 shows works starting on site with the vertical banks of Station Creek visible. Photo 2 captures the banks being battered to a stable slope, and Photo 3 shows the installation of a timber pile field and rock chute batter drains.
Photos 1 and 2 show how the pile fields and rock chutes manage water flow. Photo 3 highlights successful revegetation with native tube stock to establish groundcover.
