BBB graziers gathered at a field day in Greenvale to explore how cattle genetics could help rebuild strong, productive breeder herds. Genetic improvement plays a key role in boosting overall livestock performance. Speakers shared insights on bull soundness evaluations, effective animal health management, and understanding and using Estimated Breeding Values( EBVs). WEED MANAGEMENT
The BBB Water Quality Program supported the Meat & Livestock Australia( MLA) field day at Strathalbyn Station, where various techniques to combat heavy weed infestations were trialled and evaluated under the MLA Weeds Producer Demonstration Site( PDS)- Cooperative, integrated weed management in the BBB catchment.
