Land in Good Hands: Building a Future-Ready Grazing Community

A grazing extension program has fostered a culture of stewardship and empowered graziers and land managers to become skilled and proactive custodians of the land.

The program emphasised peer-to-peer learning, demonstration sites, and focus group activities to fast-track improvements in land stewardship and strengthen the long-term viability of the BBB grazing community.

Key activities delivered through the program included:

• property mapping;

• forage budgeting and ground cover;

• pasture management and productivity;

• soil testing and soil health;

• weed management;

• grazing systems;

• herd management and pregnancy testing;

• livestock nutrition; and

• farm track maintenance.
