Improved land management
• More than 71% of large grazing properties
in the BBB are doing projects to improve
their land condition; the majority of these are
implementing on-ground water quality practice
change, and reporting to the Paddock to Reef
Program (P2R).
• Preliminary cost-effective results identified
multiple on-ground projects with sediment
savings <$10 per tonne.
• Patchkey analysis and feedback to landholders
is taking place at 35 sites throughout the BBB
to measure long-term improvements in land
management and land condition.
• Individual, peer to peer, cluster groups and
sub-catchment approaches to improved land
management are being adopted.
