UNCITRAL Working Group V
III recently launched a new initiative to keep III members informed and engaged. Last fall III started hosting quarterly virtual meetings to spotlight our programs, share updates, and feature insights from members involved in global projects and initiatives.
Members met on December 17 to hear about updates from III’ s operational committee for UNCITRAL Working Group V, fresh on the heels of WG V’ s 67th session in Vienna. UNCI- TRAL WG V focuses on insolvency law, including asset tracing, recovery, applicable law, and the UN Model Law on Cross-Border Insolvency, and the Vienna meeting considered possible updates to the Guide to Enactment and Interpretation of the Model Law. III was awarded special consultative status to United Nations Agencies in 2014 and regularly attends and participates at the bi-annual meetings of WGV. The committee reported regarding recent developments at the Vienna session and explained what is on the horizon for future sessions.
