Young Artist’s Corner - The Boy Who Flew From The Pages Poem By: Rosaline Osborn They say you are nothing but a fiction. That you are found only in a children’s book. They have never seen your true intention. For your name was but a man’s prediction. Written to vanquish a villain and his hook. They say you are nothing but a fiction. A boy who came flying from the diction. An Island with a collection of brooks. They have never seen your true intention. She followed you with no hesitation. From window to the hidden Island nook. They say you are nothing but a fiction. Hook, clever to take her for conviction. Tempting to end your story, what a crook. They have never seen your true intention. Hidden in the corner, her depiction. The one to never grow up was mistook. They say you are nothing but a fiction. They have never seen your true intention. Young Artist’s Corner Mojave National Preserve is proud to offer young artists between the ages of 13 and 17 an opportunity to publish their work in the Desert Light Gallery Magazine. This is a platform for young voices to express what they gain by experiencing their National Parks and related public lands in person. We encourage young artists to get out there— draw, paint, photograph or write and submit your work for an opportunity to be published in an international art magazine! Submit proposals for articles and pictorials to [email protected]. Published artists will be contacted upon acceptance. Digital entries only. Do not mail any material. 10 THE DESERT LIGHT | Centennial Edition
