Afterthought Well, so much for summer! Our move to Devon is proving to be eventful, to say the least. What was supposed to be quiet and relaxing, is, in reality, filled with things to be done. For a start we have to find new and varied locations for Julie to photograph - usually including a local tree tunnel - then there are towns and villages to explore, and people to see. The National Dahlia Collection is on the hit list! Our latest adventure was taking a group of ageing hippies to Glastonbury for the day, with me, as driver, getting lost in the Somerset countryside and turning it into the Magical Mystery Tour! I did get them all home safely. Unfortunately we had to do three extra trips back to Southampton, at short notice and un- planned, after Julie’s mum was hospitalised and sent home to recover - and to cat-sit while our son went oop north to visit his girlfriend’s family. For those who don’t watch HochandaTV, the craft shopping channel, one of my earlier ‘wonky house’ commissions, ‘Poppy Cottage’ has been turned into a rubber stamp at the request of the house owner. It was sold as a limited stock item as only those made for the show will ever be sold. So another success. Which backs up what Shirley said in this month’s first article. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder - I never expected my drawings to be marketable - but because the right person saw them, and pushed me to do something about them, they are out there - selling. If I can do it, so can you. Go on! Go for it! Tell us how you get on! Kim
