Would you care to share? BADFA is lucky to have some skilled, experienced, and knowledgable teachers, as we found at this year’s convention. But we think there are even more lurking among our ranks, just awaiting the opportunity to blossom, so we are offering the chance to those shrinking violets to grasp the nettle and share all the knowledge they hold. Do you have friends round your kitchen table for a chat’n’paint session? Yes? Well this could be the start of something wonderful for you, and those who long to learn more. BADFA will encourage and support you to develop your skills and confidence to lead sessions. We will help you with session planning, preparation, and presentation, and all the behind-the- scenes bits you need to teach confidently, and any back-up support and advice you need to keep you on track. Part of the BADFA mission is to encourage more people to enjoy decorative and folk art painting, and to this end we would love to have more of you out there spreading the word. With sufficient support we will organise meetings and show’n’tell sessions - let us know what you would like to know as we ‘would care to share’. The offer is open to all members and there is no extra charge. Depending on what is arranged there may be some expenses, but these would be notified in advance. If you are interested in developing your skills, may be just to gain confidence for your at-home sessions, or to lead a class at a workshop or convention, or even if you are already teaching and would like to exchange ideas and techniques to offer a better experience to your students, please get in touch with either Gill Hobbs, of Acorn Folk Art, or Kim, the Editor on the emails below.
