The Decorative Folk Artist Issue 119 | Page 3

Afterthought Sorting the fine points for the convention each year, is always a juggling act. Events like this are all about networking, show-casing your teaching, new ideas, new friends, old friends, promoting decorative art, promoting BADFA. If we were CHA-UK, or the NEC, exhibitors would attend at their own expense, there would be little chance of immediate return on outlay. The benefits come long- term, with follow up sales, future bookings, recommendations, and repeat business. Of course, we aren’t like the big exhibitions, we are BADFA - we at least make sure our teachers get payment for their classes at convention - and they still get to network, and spread their word among like-minded friends. The committee continues to juggle with what members want, and what we provide, and the resources available. Let’s hope we don’t drop anything. But for now - it’s party time! See you in Crick! Kim
