Annual General Meeting 2019
It’s a bit early for us to have an agenda for the meeting, but one
thing that we will be dealing with is membership of the
committee.
Currently the committee consists:
Chairman
Secretary
Treasurer
Membership
Newsletter
General
Co-opted
Sharon Wolf
Rowena Howell
Anne Rogers
Julie Moody
Kim Moody
Diane Dening (not standing for re-election)
Clare Holmes
This year Diane will be stepping down as she wants to focus on her family, and we co-opted Clare
to pick up Diane’s place.
So … at the next AGM we need to consider:
a) whether to formally vote to make Clare a general member, as replacement for Diane
b) any new nominations for existing committee posts
c) any nominations for additional General Committee roles to assist with the running of BADFA
For a), Clare Holmes is a longstanding member of BADFA, she is a highly respected art teacher,
and runs her own studio in Crawley, West Sussex. The existing committee approved her being co-
opted and are happy to recommend to the members that she is elected as a General committee
member.
For b), we will be asking for nominations for the other roles. So if you, or another member, would
like to have a go at working on the committee, this would be the time to put names forward.
Nomination forms will be available later this year.
If there are no new nominations and the existing role holder is happy to remain - and there are no
objections - the role holder will remain, unopposed, otherwise there will be an election at the AGM
to decide the new role holder.
If you are interested in a particular role but you are unsure about what it entails, please ask for
more information - email [email protected] .
For c), we would like to recruit more general members to the committee to assist with ideas,
decisions, and organising, so, as before, this is the time to step up to the mark. It would be an
ideal start to working with the committee, without the pressure of formal tasks of the named roles.
Lastly, all of us on the committee would like to thank Diane for her time, her humour, her
expertise, and all the work she has done to keep the committee on course, and the conventions
from becoming chaos. It was not easy being the most remote member of the team. Thanks DD,
and we always knew that, ‘Steve’ll do it!’
