The Decorative Folk Artist Issue 108

The Decorative Folk Artist Hi Members, Well, that’s it for another year. Convention is over, Shara has gone on to her next teaching session, in Italy, and the committee start work on next year’s event. Thank you, Shara Reiner and Clare Holmes for giving us great classes for the weekend. The results of the students reflect the effort and skill of the teachers. Shara’s style was vastly different to our recent teachers. Her designs are quirky and fun. And Shara’s teaching method ensured that they were all completed in class. (Sunday’s class ran out of steam and should be easy to finish at home - I did!) Clare’s Sunday class continued the theme and was a great complement to Shara’s offerings. Read the full story later. We have a new treasurer, Anne Rogers, who replaces Sandra Wilms, who has handed over due to heavy work and family commitments. Sandra did a super job while in post, and we thank her for her thorough and detailed work. The AGM had some lively discussions, which in turn will drive the next committee meeting. Full details will be in the minutes, which are available via this link. Our chosen charity for 2017/18, Multiple Sclerosis, will receive £225; and it was decided to have Breast Cancer Awareness as our charity for 2018/19. And as always, to contact me, or anyone in the team, or to send articles and projects, e-mail - [email protected] . Any projects that are published may qualify for payment.
