Boutique de Noel T he Junior League of London held its 39th annual Boutique de Noel shopping evening on 27th November in Chelsea Old Town Hall, a change from its usual venue in Kensington. It was a very wet and cold evening which might explain the lack of supporters at the beginning, this event in the past was always crowded and oversubscribed however Father Christmas mingled and remained jolly and London based Capella Harmony Choir, the Treblemakers, started the schedule of events followed by Flora Medicott Quartet. Both were excellent and very entertaining. The Treblemakers started the festivities. Two beautiful rooms in the Town Hall were filled for festive shopping but stallholders were hoping for much busier trading the following day. Goods on offer were high quality such as Rosie Watson bespoke jewellery and exquisite Claribel products from Peru. Freddie’s Flowers who deliver beautiful seasonal flowers to your door seemed to be the very busy. Two beautiful rooms filled with shoppers’ delights. 6 THE LONDON & UK DATEBOOK The Junior League of London founded in 1985 is an organisation of women committed to promoting voluntary service, developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers .Funds raised on the evening with the help of a live auction and raffle help support this mission.
