Monster Mash Fundraiser
Smashes Target

he recent epic fundraiser
for the Lyla Nsouli
Foundation has so far raised
over £90,000 for research
into treating a rare form of
brain cancer. This fabulous
party, staged purely for
children, saw 700 guests at
the Royal Horticultural Halls
Lindley Hall in Westminster.

Nsouli said, “It’s important for
children to be part of the
Foundation. Whilst we do many
fundraising activities, we are a
children’s charity and through
this event they are an integral
part of it too.”
Guests attending the three-
hour event enjoyed
spooktacular entertainment
with headless waiters, super
tall balloon-bending witches,
snake charmers, a hanging
dracula from Holland and even
a Michael Jackson (lookalike)
doing Thriller. There were plenty
of activities too from cookie
and cake decorating, face-
painting and dancing to ball
pools and experiment stalls to
keep everyone busy. Candy
floss and Candy Kittens were The Foundation has already
given several large grants into
the treatment of Diffuse
Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, a rare
brain cancer which is
inoperable and has a median
nine months of survival from
diagnosis. The latest grant of
£244,000 has allowed trials of
a pioneering form of Convection
Enhanced Delivery which allows
drugs to be delivered directly to
the tumour without harming the
rest of the body. They have
already made strides in their

he M&W (Mahan &
Wouhra family) Charity
Ball on Saturday 3rd
November raised a record
total of £100,134 in their
second year for the UK
Sepsis Trust and mental
health MIND.
Over 650 guests came together
including special guests Harry
Potter, Star Wars actor Warwick
Davis and Aston Villa Footballer
Yannick Bolasie along with the
host for the evening Sky Sports
presenter Pete Graves. The
money raised at the M&W
Charity Ball will help the UK
Sepsis Trust to raise public
awareness, educate health

A portion of the funds raised
will also be donated to MIND, a
charity which focuses on raising
awareness and promoting
understanding around mental
health across the UK.
Attendees gathered at Resorts
World’s Vox Conference Centre
to enjoy the ‘Maharaja
Gardens’, event’s theme. The
evening was filled with vibrant
entertainment, fine Indian
cuisine and charity auctions in
lavish Rajasthan-inspired
surroundings.

M&W unveiled the ‘Carnival
Creation’ theme for next year’s
ball on 16th November 2019 at
the ICC with plans to host over
