institution. The museum is
home to one of the largest
and most comprehensive
permanent collections in
existence, with
approximately 8 million
works to be explored.
For events, the British Museum is
hard to beat. Within the museum,
you’ll find a huge range of
incredible event spaces, suiting
all manner of occasions. A range
of unique grade-one listed public
galleries are available for private
hire, and are complemented with
a suite of contemporary
conference facilities, designed by
Lord Foster.

For a main course we were
invited to sit down on a gold
topped table and served fillet of
beef with heavenly truffle mash
and a blackberry jus – taken
one step further on
‘#theskysthelimit’ journey with
shavings of gold leaf. Signature
cocktails and coffee flowed
throughout the afternoon into
the early evening. A relaxed
and refined lounge served
birthday cake, cheese and port.

Restaurants to
revitalise their events
hospitality business, Lena
Bjork’s Alexander and
Bjork has enjoyed three
years of spectacular
growth. Conran
Restaurants, and later
under the D&D name, had
previously attempted to
join this exciting market
sector as Bluebird Events.
While Bluebird Events was
respected and achieved
listing at a fair number of
Special Event Venues, the
business did not survive
long term. So when Lena
Bjork sold her previous
business, a partnership of
Lena’s creativity, love for
superb food and
enjoyment of life with
D&D’s backing made
perfect sense.
Three years of business growth,
listing at venues and the
creation of a sustainable
business was celebrated at the
White Space at Bluebird in
Chelsea. A theme of
‘#theskysthelimit’ ensured
spectacular dishes
imaginatively displayed on a
series of food stations. A great
fun Amuse Bouche wall
displayed duck eggs with
Cascading foliage of Garden Display.

Neon booths offered Neo Latin
exciting dishes such as, tuna
titaki with plums and samphire
or squid ceviche with coconut
and pineapple. There was also
a flower festooned garden
display of astoundingly
delicious Jerusalem artichoke
with aubergine or poached
rhubarb with cashew cream.
