RHS Hampton Court
Palace Garden Festival
I
t was a great honour to be
able to attend the preview
evening of the prestigious
RHS Hampton Court Palace
Garden Festival. The sun
was shining, and the
atmosphere was buzzing as
we walked in to the famous
grounds. We immediately
grabbed a picnic spot by the
longwater and headed off to
see the show gardens for
inspiration. We were spoiled
for choice. Some were more
beautiful than others but
those that lacked in beauty
made up for it in creativity
with a thought-provoking
message.
appeared to be something for
everyone.
But for now, it was time to
enjoy our picnic to the disco-
funk sounds of Frank Moody on
the floating stage and await the
spectacular fireworks finale.

Exotic colour palette.
The RHS Back to Nature
garden was a haven of fun and
mischief with dens, swings and
plenty of places to hide away
from chaos. The Dream of the
Indianos was like being
transported to the Caribbean
with its exotic colour palette
and impressive palm trees. It is
hard to believe these gardens
are temporary installations.
Creativity.
The Festival of Roses was a
spectacle in itself. A small
quiet seating area surrounded

by what felt like hundreds of
varieties made for a dazzling
display of colour with a
magnificent aroma.
There was plenty to see and do
and we could easily have spent
hours exploring the tradestands
which offered a variety of
gardening products and
structures. From the quality
hand-made oak signs of
Bespoak Designs to the many
artisans packed into the
Country Living tent there
Something for everyone.
