could too . He pushed and prodded them , kicked and hit them , desperately searching for any way out of his cell . After a while , he realized the other girls were also trying to find a way out . It didn ’ t bring him any joy though . He ’ d already lost another one of his friends , and somehow it hurt more than losing Aaron , whom he had known for years .
If they didn ’ t get out of here soon , he ’ d lose even more friends . If he wasn ’ t taken before them , that was .
They continued testing the bars for a while . During that time , a plan came to Grey . He considered it , made a few tweaks , and then grinned . His plan might just work .

Several days passed . Or at least , that ’ s what it felt like . It was hard to tell the passage of time with no clock or phones to give an exact time , no windows to see the change of light in the sky , and the dirty yellow bulbs never turning off . The only things that changed in the lockup were the old Lunchables trays and water bottles getting changed out for news ones , as well as the heat finally going down to bearable levels .
But it felt like several days , so Grey counted it as several days . And during that time , he kept a careful watch for any change from the routine .
