Moonlight : Serenade by B . L . Tucker

Many see a sphere , an orb that shines light into life But few see a mystical object that rips dark from night The moon is a thing of wonder from all other eyes But from mine it is pain and scrutiny that binds me from the sky
I sense the dog awakening when I see a clear moon A serenade , a dance for two , while I struggle through My senses tingle , shake , awake as the dog becomes the wolf And the howling starts , as course fur grows , and the man I knew devolves
Claws stretch forth , tearing skin , breaking bones Canines protrude from bleeding gums Muscles constrict as my body contorts The mind dims and goes dark The human thinks no more The violent desires erupt The savage beast unleashed
Until I get my blood-filled lust satiated , I will not stop the bender
For I am not a man when the fangs emerge , but a wild dog driven by hunger
