didn ’ t want her to be aggravated by the crazy neighbor lady who lived downstairs .

“ Ms . Grigsby .” “ Marcus , how are you ? I was just here visiting- .”
“ You can ’ t be here right now . Please come with me .” Marcus motioned for her to follow .
“ She needs someone watching .” What the hell did that mean ?
That ’ s exactly the kind of crap he didn ’ t want someone spouting off while his wife was in a coma . She didn ’ t need to hear that kind of crap .
“ The nurses and doctors are taking care of her and I ’ m here as much as I possibly can be .”
“ That ’ s not enough . They ’ ll keep coming for her unless someone is here around the clock .”
“ I ’ ve had enough . Look , I ’ ve tried being polite while we ’ ve been neighbors , but I just can ’ t deal with you anymore . I don ’ t have time for this . Please , leave .”
Two other nurses were watching through the open doorway . Ms . Grigsby smiled politely , gathering her purse and book she ’ d been reading . She took her time , Marcus kind of got the feeling she wasn ’ t asked to leave very often . He didn ’ t care . She had to go .
“ I ’ ll be awaiting your call .”
Marcus snorted , the old woman walking out , checking her hat before heading to the exit .
She ’ ll be waiting a long damn time .
