Reagan Volk is a sophomore in high school who has won local scholarships for her nonfiction essays , and now is expanding the body of her work . Her stories are personal and woven around the truths in her life which makes them flow from her fingertips without resistance . Having her work published outside of her small town not only would help extend the boundaries for young writers but also prove that what is possible for high schoolers is simply a construct they build for themselves and have cemented by the adults around them .
