Wank shrugged , took one last glance at the stunning visage that stared out of the mirror at him , and replied , “ Sure .” It was a day for stunners , he thought .
The half-orc watched the assayer ’ s office from an adjacent alley across the main road . He snuggled into an unnaturally deep , recessed darkness below a set of steps that went up the side of a gray wooden building . One person seemed to be pacing half-circles around the right side of the building . The side door opened once and a heavy set gentleman walked out . Giving a curt nod to the watchman , he strode toward the main thoroughfare , hesitated for just a second , then continued out and away to Wank ’ s left .
Wank recognized this man as the heavyset fellow wearing tan and brown from the cavern that morning . Well , he is not the quarry this night , Wank thought , and focused back on the adjacent alley .
Knowing he could not directly approach it from here , the half-orc let go the strands of shadow he had gathered …
