over to a black leather chair and sat down . Viken moved to the chair opposite him and relaxed into it .
“ How are you , Grandfather ?” Traishen asked pulling off the cloak he was wearing . “ It has been a while since we last met .”
“ I know and I ’ m sorry . I have been busy looking after someone .” Viken smiled at his grandson , wondering how much to tell him about what was going on . Let ’ s take this one step at a time and then I ’ ll make my decision , Viken thought .
“ So , why have you finally come to see me ? It must be important .” Traishen pulled out a flask from an inside pocket , opened it , and offer the flagon to Viken .
“ I came to speak with you about Lazarius .” Viken took the offered silver flask and inhaled the aroma of its contents . “ Ahhh , nineteen twelve , is it ? A very nice year , indeed .” He took a swallow and handed it back to his grandson . “ Tell me , what do you know about Lazarius , Traishen ?”
“ More than most , but not as much as I would like … Why do you ask ?”
“ I have something I wish to discuss with you but wanted to know what knowledge you already had . What do you know about Shizuka , then ?” Viken leaned forward in his chair , interested in his grandson ’ s response …
