Come Back
by Dee Espinoza
I’m screaming please don’t leave me
You can’t hear me this time
I found you last night
Between the pools of crimson red blood
You’re ice cold and snow white
I brush the hair from your face
And kiss your forehead
They take you away
Laying on a cold steel slab
Toe tag reads DOA “SUICIDE”
The pain is too much
The screaming in my head is thunderous
You’re gone and I am left to pick up the pieces
Home alone with the blood-stained floor
The dagger calls my name
Grasping it tight I plunge it into my chest
