No name. Sarah felt a tsunami of panic rise in her stomach

Oh shit, clearly some nosy parker had fastened on her social
drinking as if it were a problem. However,
Management could be such puritans. If they she
thought was a liability while she was still on her
probationary start she'd be out faster than Usain
Bolt. Oh God, what if they checked at her last job?
If they told them about that stupid incident, and
she'd not even begun to clear the mortgage arrears
yet. Oh shit, shit, shit...
Knowing she was going to need to think this through,
Sarah decided to skip the wine bar. The fact that
she could do so without a qualm was proof
enough, if proof were needed, that she was not in
any way an alcoholic. An alcoholic wouldn’t be
able to make a decision like that.
Instead, she did a little shopping and made her way straight
to the bus stop. Edging to the periphery of the
Wildebeest herd of commuters, she stood a little
off and searched for her cigarettes. Reaching into
her pocket the packet gave beneath her fingers in
with the little crumple that indicated emptiness.
