A Brother’s Revenge
by C. Christine Fair
My dearest brother you know me still. I am
The scent of the spring rain that soaked my
bloated corpse that nags you
The song you play driving to buy the gun
The taste in your mouth as you quench your thirst
driving to his home
The voice that guides you to a place you have
never been
The eyes that move you towards a man you have
never seen
The exhilaration you feel as you walk up to him,
heart pounding
The tingling sensation in your trigger finger
The name on your lips when you release the bullet
between his eyes
The face he sees floating behind your own as his
life pours out
