Clay Hunt is a poet from the wastelands of Modesto, California. He has works published in the literary journals Penumbra and Song of the San Joaquin. His father had various mental illnesses and Hunt himself battles with ADHD. A Red Witch was inspired by a meeting with a specific person who was physically sick, as well as having a manic episode. The poem became cursed and spawned into its own entity, but the initial meeting with Hunt's friend inspired this writing. 65
