got the strange feeling he already knew how to get out of his cell . But every time he focused on that moment , the answer stayed out of his reach . With a groan , Grey fell back against the floor and brushed the hair out of his eyes .
I gotta figure out , and soon , he thought . If I don ’ t , I ’ m going to start crazy and start bouncing off the walls waiting for Old Man to come for me —

Trying to bust down his cell door ! He ’ d kept hitting it over and over again , like a football player on the offensive . The only time he ’ d actually managed to get it to move , however , was — Was when I had a lower center of gravity . The cell door had been pushed upwards and out of its frame . Just a little , maybe an inch . But it was enough to give him hope .
Backing up , Grey bent low . He counted to three and then rushed forward , shoulder and elbow leading the charge . He bounced off the cell door like before , but not without hearing a satisfying scrape of metal against stone . As he fell back against the floor , he saw the cell door had moved a little and the gap between the door and floor had widened .
Grey jumped to his feet and cheered . Despite his aching arm , he pumped his fists in the air , full of energy
