“ Why ,” he gasped , when he could , “ why ?” When at last he could speak again . “ If you already know everything that I could possibly tell you , then why not just kill me ?” She had known nothing , only claiming to know , and he had , falling completely for her ruse , assured her that the information she needed was available . His mistake had only encouraged her to continue .
“ Perhaps ,” she said , with a hard , menacing tone of voice , “ I was simply in need of an evening ’ s entertainment .” And then , she laughed flippantly . She turned to him again , this time leaving the poker behind . She bared her fangs and ripped open the side of his neck , blood spurting onto her lips and into her mouth . His screams filled the room . She bit him again , tearing out his vocal cords , and enforcing his silence . Her nails stretched forth and she buried them deeply into his chest , pulling him forward , forcing him to look into her eyes . He struggled against her but could feel his strength fading , as he complied .
He could sense her presence as she probed within his mind , seeking out the pieces of information he had told her were hiding there . She found the location of the Baron ’ s keep and Napier felt a sharp searing pain as the information , and all its details , were torn from his memory . She tracked down all the other pieces of information she would need to wage her attack , and each was harvested , leaving Napier jibbering in madness upon the task ’ s completion . She bent to his jugular and completed his destruction . As she drank , she became aware of the large
