Worlds Games
In the 2013 Worlds Games, the United States got the gold medal, placing first in the mixed division, meaning that the team has both males and females and are played roughly equally on the fields. Australia takes second, Canada third, Columbia fourth, Japan fifth, and Great Britain sixth.
Every year, Ultimate players in the US are selected and invited to Worlds tryouts. This year, in 2014, several of the players from the U-19 Boys' and U-19 Girls' teams were invited to tryouts. This is a huge honor and shows that your skill is good enough to be of International competition.
Although none of the girls from the U-19 Girls' team made the Worlds team, several of the boys from the U-19 Boys' team did and they will be playing this summer on August 2nd through 9th in Lecco, Italy.
There will be a total of 33 fields for this years Worlds U-23 (all players under the age of 23). This years Worlds could be the largest in history with up to 160 international teams from many countries.
There will be approximately 3,500 atheletes!Jamie White
