It Takes a Village
The mission of the BAYFF program is to help families to enjoy the outdoors together by teaching kids the fun of fly fishing and the ethics of conservation.
The BAYFF is not a stand alone organization. Rather, it’s a collaborative program run by volunteers from six Bay Area fly fishing clubs and two conservation organizations. We decided that, by working together, we could create more synergistic impact through sharing our three world class Bay Area casting
facilities in San Francisco, Oakland and the San Jose area, our expert volunteer
resources and our outreach efforts. We could also leverage these by engaging
with supportive partners who share our vision. It was an amazing (and humbling experience for many of the old timers) to have 15 year old world fly casting champion Maxine McCormick help teach kids and give a casting demonstration at our recent BAYFF clinic held at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. Our vision is a future of energized young women and men sharing a passion for the sport of fly fishing and protecting the waters that fish and our families depend on. We greatly appreciate that CalTrout shares that vision.
