The culture & diversity I witnessed on course was awe-inspiring. I was humbled by the experience, and it gave me more respect for the smaller things in life.

DIVERSITY
IN FUNDING In nature, diversity is critical to the productivity and sustainability of an ecosystem, and each component – from microorganism to predator – is important. When it comes to generating revenue, organizations also thrive on diversity. At EPI, individual donations, foundation grants, events, bequests, and endowment gifts match earned income from student tuition and other sources, which ensures we’ ll be here long into the future to provide accessible and life-changing conservation education for Latin American and U. S. teens. The $ 10 monthly donor and the $ 10,000 annual donor each occupy an essential niche, and together they provide a strong, diverse foundation for inspiring the next generation of conservation leaders.
DIVERSITY IN STUDENTS
Our students hail from a multitude of geographies around the world, bringing with them a variety of backgrounds, interests, and histories. Like ecosystems, these students are intricately connected to each other and the wider world; with each interaction, they cross boundaries to learn and work together for a healthier planet. Of our 30,000 + participants, 80 % are underserved youth living in one of our 5 program countries, and more than 60 % are female, proving that a love for science and conservation doesn’ t conform to stereotypes or geographies. It takes a diversity of voices to speak up and protect nature, and EPI students are doing just that.
