The meteoric rise of Andy Frasco
continues other noises of a late festival
night, and I feel asleep.
STILLWATER, Okla. – I remember
laying in a tent at a music
festival almost a decade ago
at the end of three long, crazy
days of stomping around and
listening to music over 12
hours a day, thinking, “If I hear
one more note, I’m going to
explode!” The next morning, as everybody
was packing up camp, I couldn’t
help but notice those around me
commenting how raging Andy
Frasco’s set was. This is a phrase
I’d hear uttered over and over
with each passing festival.
For several years now, Frasco,
and his band the U.N., have
traveled the globe spreading
joyful sounds with positive
messages, much of which the
man himself shares in blogs and
social media posts.
If you’re in a funk, or just
want a little extra positivity
run this racing season.

band would fire up. It had to
be 3 a.m. The band was good,
and whoever was emceeing was

the frenzy. I listened until the
noise became a blur mixed with

Stonewall Tavern in Stillwater
on Mar. 14, and Backwoods
Music Festival in Ozark, Ark., on
Apr. 20-21, where Frasco and
company will be raging and
jamming late into the evening.
