How to Spring Break
without going broke
By Kira Fell
one located in Oklahoma City. Zoos equal a day
of fun, in which have reasonable day rates, you can
pack a picnic, and will keep children of all ages
entertained. Check social media for addresses, rates,
and hours.

TULSA, Okla. – Hello March, and double hello Spring
Break! We have been looking forward to this week
since we sent our angel babies back to school after
Christmas. Okay, that is a lie, but the kids are excited.
Now we must decide how to keep our monkeys busy
while not breaking the bank or losing what little bit of
sanity we have left.
If your budget will allow, there are many camps during
Spring Break to keep the kiddos busy and you still
working. However, if you are like me and stay at home,
or took the week off, we must keep them busy and not
spend our entire monthly budget in one week.
So, here are three different things to do for
entertainment and without breaking the bank. Number
one to do, which by far is my favorite - hit the zoos.
There is a zoo located in Tulsa at Mohawk Park and
Number two: a Route 66 road trip. When is the last
time you got off the turnpike and went down the iconic
Route 66? Pack a cooler of snacks and drinks, fill up
the car and take a trip down the “Mother Road”. A
good time for everyone to get unplugged and receive
a history lesson.
Number three on my list of to dos: hiking! Do you
realize how lucky we are to live in the beautiful state
of Oklahoma? Get out there and go to one of our
many state parks and get exercise at the same time. To
find a state park near you visit travelok.com
I hope this small list will give you a few ideas to get
out of the house and make this Spring Break the best
yet.
