TULSA , Okla . - The area ’ s finest roots pop duo is preparing to drop their latest recording project . Desi & Cody aren ’ t just a musical match , they ’ re a married couple .
Cody Clinton and his wife Desirae Roses-Clinton have completed their next album and it ’ s nearly ready for release . Their debut record was recorded considerably in advance of its release . The new record is following a similar course , The Paul Masson vineyard used to promise “ we will sell no wine before its time ,” and Desi & Cody follow that standard with their recordings .
The new record has the duo backed by a full band recorded live in the same room at Fellowship Hall in Arkansas . That particular sound studio has been very popular among Tulsa area artists in recent years . And they do a great job .
But most everything else about the new Desi & Cody album diverges from the Tulsa norm . It ’ s layered with production and additional instruments like synthesizers , horns and keyboards . It ’ s very different than the more stripped down feeling of their debut record . The new album definitely still sounds like them , but this is a new Desi & Cody incorporating a broad range of new sounds into their artistry . The new album still has a raw indie vibe to it . The additional layers are organic sounding , not slick , pretentious or artificial .
Desi & Cody remain active locally while they plot their next cross country tour in promotion for the new album . Their next big promotional push will come with their featured show at Tulsa Boom Factory showcase . It ’ s part of the world famous music conference held each spring in Austin , Texas . Once they return from Austin , their next Tulsa area performance is scheduled for Friday , Apr . 6 , at the The Colony bar in midtown on Harvard Avenue .
