Darryl Starbird’s
bringing custom rods to River Spirit
Fairgrounds

TULSA, Okla. – Everyone
who’s into cars knows the
name Darryl Starbird, and
they all know what his team
prepares for every year
since 1959. This year’s Hot
Rod and Custom Car Show is
happening at the River Spirit
Fairgrounds Feb. 16-18, so if
you consider yourself a hot
rod fan, this is it.
The biggest indoor hot rod
show in all of the U.S., there’s
so much happening, you are
likely to find yourself back
for a second or third day.
It’s more than pretty paint
and shiny chrome; they’ve
planned events like the
Twinstunts Thrill show and a
huge Demolition Derby, big
dawgs in the industry such
as Ryan Evans from “Count’s
Kustoms” and the team
from “Gear Dogs” to name
a few and plenty of musical
acts like Brian Lee Dunning,
Kelli Lynn and Oklahoma
boys the Jimmy Lee Jordan
Band. Of course, there will
be pinstripers, tattoo artists,
pinup girls a beard and
moustache contest and
plenty of awards, vendors
and music.
But the big draw is always
the rides. And there are
plenty of pretty rides that
we strongly recommend
you don’t lean on, but
pictures probably won’t
hurt the paint. Tim
Strange’s “Evolution”, John
D’Agostino’s “Pantheon”
and Starbird’s big deal
“Monster Cad” will be
making appearances,
even if the owners are not
attending.
