Alt-country crooners hit Stillwater

Tumbleweed Dancehall , just outside Stillwater , is one of Oklahoma ’ s most famous honky-tonks . In recent years , the venue has scaled back to a qualityover-quantity formula , presenting just a handful of shows each year with outstanding performers . The Weed ’ s next show is Feb . 3 when Josh Abbott and William Clark Green will play an acoustic show as a part of their Hanging Around Tour before heading to Key West and on to St . Louis .
The tour ’ s name seems to come from the single “ Hangin ’ Around ” by the Josh Abbott Band . The song made the Hot Country Songs chart and highlights Abbott ’ s nearly perfect classiccountry vocals with an eclectic , high-energy rock arrangement . JAB has garnered Top 10 debuts on the Billboard country albums chart with Small Town Family Dream and Front Row Seat .
Abbott ’ s partner in crime for the show is William Clark Green : a singer / songwriter / Texan who has released five albums in the last decade , each one a little more complex . Songs like “ She Likes the Beatles ” and “ Ringling Road ” demonstrate Green ’ s way of telling quirky stories with passionate vocals . It will be interesting to see how these two leading men share the stage .
The Union Beverage Co . is bringing one of Texas ’ s most beloved performers to Stillwater this month .
Alt-country troubadour , Bart Crow , will take the stage on the Strip Feb . 23 . The nomadic Texan has sold more than 40,000 copies of his self-produced albums , steeped in Americana , but pulling from contemporary sounds and production values .
Crow has had many homegrown successes with six No . 1 singles on the Texas Music Chart , including “ Wear My Ring ” and “ Life Comes at You Fast .” In 2016 , Rolling Stone named Crow one of the “ 10 New Country Artists You Need to Know ,” so if you don ’ t know him yet , thankfully , he is coming to us .
