BARTLESVILLE , Okla . - You can party with a purpose when Charlie Redd and The Full Flava Kings play the 16 th Annual All That Jazz fundraiser at Bartlesville ’ s Hillcrest Country Club Feb . 3 . Proceeds from the event , which features dancing , dinner , a cash bar , and raffle prizes , benefit the city ’ s Westside Community Center .

Tickets are $ 100 , which includes entertainment , a gourmet buffet and a raffle ticket . Additional raffle tickets can be purchased that evening . Prizes include a $ 500 gift certificate to the Apple Store , art , jewelry and a Sweetheart Package at the Price Tower ( hotel room , champagne and dinner at the Copper Restaurant .)

“ They ’ ve been doing this program for almost ten years now , and the school system says they can tell a huge difference as these kids get into the higher grades .” said Halpin .

Halpin and his wife believe the Westside Community Center plays a valuable role in their community .

Dennis Halpin and his wife Debbie are co-chairs for the event , along with Kaleigh and Daniel West .

“ We usually have around 200 people ,” Halpin said . “ We have a pretty regular crowd . It ’ s a fun event . Debbie and I have been doing this for almost 12 years now . We ’ ve created an event where we spend less time on the ‘ raising money ’ piece and more time on music and dancing .”

The event benefits a number Westside Community Center programs , like the anti-bullying , anti-violence “ Peacefull Warriors Program ,” which provides anger management and crisis resolution education for 4 th and 5 th graders at Bartlesville-area elementary schools through group discussion , non-aggressive self-defense instruction , strength and fitness exercises , and mindfulness meditation .

“ We ’ ve gotten involved , and we like what they ’ re doing ,” he commented . “ We ’ ve gotten to know and are friends with Morris McCorvey , their director , and are supporters of the organization . We want them to keep doing what they ’ re doing .”
