BENTONVILLE , Ark . – Wouldn ’ t it be great to visit a superb museum , featuring worldclass art , without having to drive super far ? For those who already know , Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art is one such place . Those who don ’ t yet know will have a nice surprise their first visit .
The museum , which is named for a natural spring on its wooded site , as well as the construction incorporated into the building design , is well-known for its masterful collection of art , both permanent and revolving .

The permanent collection features works by Norman Rockwell , Andy Warhol , Georgia O ’ Keeffe , and many more . Their ongoing temporary exhibitions are easily as impressive , if not even more so at times .
Upcoming exhibitions
Just in time for Black History Month , Crystal Bridges brings “ Soul of a Nation ” to its halls , Feb . 3 - April 23 . With works by more than 60 artists , viewers can take a secondhand look at the reshaping of American culture by black artists

from the 1960s through the ‘ 80s .
After that , we ’ re looking forward to “ Georgia O ’ Keeffe and Contemporary Artists ” May 26-Sept . 23 and “ Native North America ” opening Oct . 6 .
But this cultural hotspot is more than just art . They host many beautiful events , from concerts to classes , and have a little something for everyone . The museum ’ s restaurant , Eleven , is a work of art in itself . Housed in a glass-enclosed bridge structure overlooking spring-fed ponds , the eatery offers a blend of Low Midwest and High South cuisine .
There ’ s also an art trail and lots of natural beauty for folks to enjoy during all seasons .
Thanks to a Walmart sponsorship , entry to the museum is free , but some special exhibitions are important enough for an admission fee .
