BARTLESVILLE , Okla . – At the start of a New Year we want fresh experiences , new ideas , and new entertainment … and it ’ s still kinda cold so we want to do a lot of this inside . Let ’ s look at a few spots that offer meaningful and relevant entertainment housed in lovely theaters .
Bartlesville Community Center
In many small Oklahoma towns , a community center implies a modest , yet entirely functional societal hub . Make no mistake : Bartlesville Community Center , with its worldclass performing arts hall , is truly a beautiful venue .
Construction on the building ran from 1979-1982 and was completed by Tulsa ’ s Flintco Inc . According to the venue ’ s vision , “ the

Bartlesville Community Center was designed to be an integral part of the community , a place where the citizens of Bartlesville could not only enjoy the arts , but gather for a variety of business , social and public events .”

Muskogee Little Theatre
Some ways down the road , the culturally rich and ever revitalizing Muskogee offers its share of 2018 entertainment .
Muskogee Little Theatre has roots back to 1972 , when it originated as a nonprofit community theater , pieced together from parts of the community . When the old Sequoyah Elementary building was being torn down a group of individuals urged the school district to salvage the cafetorium ( to transform into a theater ) and sell the land . Later , when the old Ritz Theatre was being torn down , its gold curtains were removed and taken to MLT . Much more help has come along the way as well .
