Letter from the editor: Isn’t it wild to think that
celebrities are just people, too?
Chances are Luke Bryan
wakes up every day, just
like you and I do (granted
his house is probably way
more fabulouser than
yours or mine), but he
probably takes a whiz,
flips on the telly, pours his
water/juice/coffee and
goes through the motions
of a day as Luke Bryan. on an O-M-G what are the
Swon Brothers doing now-
type of vibe. Yet, I recall
well Zach strolling into a
local pub and tickling the
ivories for an hour while
a dozen of us looked on,
or running into Colton
receiving visitors at the
Oklahoma Music Hall of
Fame.
Bringing it in a little further,
let’s look at the Swon
Brothers. For all intents and
purposes, Zach and Colton
are celebrities. They’ve
been playing music
across the region most of
their lives, but after their
third place finish on “The
Voice”, things escalated;
bigger shows, bigger eyes The real success here
is that fame, notoriety,
celebrity – whatever you
want to call it – doesn’t
have to change people.
Some handle it better
than others. I can’t
attest to Luke Bryan’s
lifestyle pre- and post-
breakout success, but I
know the Swon Brothers

told Charlie Rose, “I literally
have everything I’ve ever
wanted...that’s a strange
feeling, a little bit.” I feel
that way to an extent, but
do you feel the same?
Why or why not? While
The Current Buzz might not
make you a celebrity or
be the answer to fulfilling
your purpose-driven life,
it’s certainly a roadmap to
something.
