TULSA , Okla . – After 20 years of family fun , the former balloon festival was cancelled . In 2016 , the Tulsa International Balloon Festival was recreated to cover the absence of the former . The new festival is , by and far , a much bigger even than its predecessor .
June 14-18 will be a great time for Tulsans and our neighbors ; now held for 5 days , instead of 2 previously , the Tulsa International Balloon Festival aims for the prestige of being the second largest balloon festival in the United States , and the amenities and entertainment have now been taken to an entirely new level .
Featuring a full size carnival , food vendors , shopping tents , and various entertainment options , the Tulsa Balloon Festival boasts one of the largest free admissions events in

Oklahoma . A marked shift from Memorial Day weekend has been a thoughtful way to avoid the typically turbulent weather we have witnessed in previous shows . After a great success last year , the organizers project a really successful and beautiful feature to our local culture and traditions .
The attraction will include approximately 50 balloons , including a few speciallyshaped balloons attending as well . Tethered rides and balloon glow shows take place on the first two evenings ( June 14-15 ) at 7 p . m . The following three days host the flights and other spectator events . All events are subject to weather conditions , but Tulsa Balloon Festival has already secured a reputation of being pretty reliable in the face of Mother Nature .
