MULTIPLE TOWNS , Okla . - Ah , the smell of exhaust is thick in many downtowns this time of year and as many of you know , once the rains left , the motorcycles , hot rods , ‘ Stangs , Volks , ‘ Vettes and any other number of cool rides pulled in . Whether part of something bigger , a show on their own , or just an accidental gathering of a brother / sister-hood all converging to show solidarity for a common cause , this is the season of the ride . We ’ ve got a few for you to check out , but it ’ s worth your time to find a new one too .

The SHRINERS have a Poker Run in Muskogee June 10 ; its long history and big attendance make it one you need to check out . The Outlaws & Lawmen Poker Run has prizes , cash payouts , food and entertainment , but the big win comes from knowing the proceeds go to helping Shriners Hospitals for Children . Muskogee prides itself on being a biker-friendly town and the Shriners put a lot into helping sick children get the help they need no matter their family ’ s finances , but they need us to make it a reality . Copperhead Run Rally ( www . copperheadrunrally . com ) celebrates warmer times with all kinds of party games , good food , a bike show , vendors and more . Camp there and really let your hair down , but you gotta be 21 or older !
Sparks Bike Week is happening June 15-25 , but I ’ d go to Sparks just to hang out with the sisters that organize the events . They are a bat-poo crazy bunch so their planning of fun knows no bounds . Bikers in need of a week-long party ( or a place to cut loose ),

Oklahoma Veterans Need YOU ! ( This is motor-related , stay with me ). The Buzz is sending out a call to arms to anyone who takes pride in being an American : The American Veterans Motorcycle Club ( AVMC ) is hosting their fourth annual Riverwalk Rally June 24 , 4 – 10 p . m . in Jenks . This gathering grows by leaps each year ( but it still can ’ t keep up with the needs of our vets ). The AVMC members are 90 percent military so the profits raised go to the Tulsa Vet Center to help local vets with all kinds of issues : illness , homelessness , depression , PTSD , job placement and more . Did you know that 22 veterans commit suicide DAILY ? We heard how hard the AVMC works to host this Rally to benefit local vets and it touched our soul .
