Motley legend, songwriting sultan hit
The Joint
By Julie Wenger Watson
While the band may have hung up its guitars,
Neil is rocking on. As a solo performer, Neil
will cover all of the classic Crue hits, along
with some of his own new material, for the
Tulsa audience this month.
Eleven-time Grammy-nominated Jamey
Johnson is “one of the greatest country
singers of our time,” according to the
Washington Post. This Alabama native has
accumulated multiple awards over his
career, including Song of the Year trophies
for his singles “Give it Away and “In Color”
from the Academy of Country Music and
the Country Music Association. Songs from
Johnson’s 2008 Grammy-winning album, That
Lonesome Song continue to be favorites with
his fans.
CATOOSA, Okla. – The Joint in Tulsa’s Hard
Rock Hotel and Casino welcomes legendary
Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil June 1
and country musician Jamey Johnson June
16. This state of the art venue east of Tulsa is
a great place to catch a show whether its
heavy metal or outlaw country.
As the unmistakable voice of Motley Crue,
Neil has left his musical mark on the songs
of a generation – tunes like “Wild Side”,
“Shout at the Devil” and “Girls, Girls, Girls” -
during this metal band’s 34-year run. Hugely
successful, Motley Crue had many multi-
platinum releases, more than 20 hit singles,
and over 80 million albums sold before
calling it quits on New Year’s Eve in 2015.
Neil, who was raised in Compton, California,
fell in love with music as a kid – everything
from classic Motown to hard rock. He began
performing with local bands where he
discovered his passion for the stage and his
talent as a singer and performer. Eventually,
Neil joined forces with his high school buddy
Tommy Lee to form Motley Crue in 1981.

A new king of outlaw country, Johnson is
a suitable heir to Willie Nelson and George
Jones. His sets are full of plenty of country
ballads, but plenty of blistering Southern
rock, too. Fans at the Joint are in for a
memorable evening. For more information
