Norah Jones returns to her favorite stage in Tulsa

TULSA , Okla . – On Friday , June 9 , nine-time Grammy Award winner Norah Jones heads to the Brady Theater in Tulsa for an installment of the Day Breaks World Tour . Doors open at 7 p . m . and the show starts at 8 p . m . with a performance by The Candles . Ticket prices range from $ 64- $ 83.50 and are available at the box office or online via StubHub .
Jones , a singer-songwriting superstar who combines elements of jazz , pop , blues , soul , and folk , launched onto the music scene in 2002 with her debut album Come Away with Me . The album went on to sell over 26 million copies and helped Jones earn five Grammy Awards including Album of the Year , Record of the Year , and Best New Artist . Billboard

Magazine later recognized Jones as the top jazz artist of the 2000s . Jones has since released six solo records and a collaborative effort with Billie Joe Armstrong ( Foreverly ) in 2013 .
Jones released her newest record , Day Breaks , on October 7 , 2016 . Day Breaks peaked at No . 2 on the Billboard chart and is Jones ’ sixth record to achieve a top-10 rank . For Day Breaks , Jones attempted to recapture the unique jazzpiano presence which was so prevalent on most of her earlier work . The album has received favorable reviews from critics and Jones has recently made several appearances on late-night talk shows to promote the record . The composition of Day Breaks shows Jones ’
range , and along with nine original songs , she also included three covers from Horace Silver , Duke Ellington and Neil Young .
For The Day Breaks World Tour , The Candles will once again be sharing the stage with Jones having previously played alongside her on a 2012 tour . The Candles were formed in New York City in 2009 by front man Josh Lattanzi , who had previously collaborated with several acts including The Lemonheads and Ben Kweller .
The Candles released their third album , Matter + Spirit , in December . Rolling Stone gave the effort 3.5 stars and said , “ Candles delivers rootsy catharsis with detail and texture most ‘ Americana ’ bands can ’ t touch , full of subtle craftsmanship befitting musicians who moonlight as Norah Jones ’ backing band .”
