“ Golf has been a passion of mine from a young age , so when I received the chance for this internship I couldn ’ t have been more excited ,” said Troll . “ I have always been interested in how tournaments are set up and how they are run throughout the entire process , so I am looking forward to learning quite a lot this summer with the CSGA staff .”
Bagley is currently finishing her senior year at Saint Michael ’ s College in Colchester Vermont , and will graduate in May as an Economics major with minors in both Math and French . Bagley is a dual sport athlete at Saint Michael ’ s , competing for both the Women ’ s Ice Hockey and Women ’ s Softball varsity teams . During her undergraduate years , Bagley has served as an instructor at various sports camps in Vermont and Massachusetts , as well as spending a semester abroad in France .
“ I am thrilled for the opportunity to work for the Connecticut State Golf Association along with its member clubs and golfers ,” said Bagley , “ I look forward to learning how to conduct tournaments and further my knowledge and experience in golf administration .”
Miller is currently in his junior year at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst , and a student of the Isenberg School of Management . Currently a marketing intern with the UMass Athletic Department , Miller brings a significant amount experience with sport organizations throughout New England , including the PGA Tour ’ s Deutsche Bank Championship held at TPC Boston .
“ I am excited to have the opportunity to work with the CSGA this summer through the USGA P . J . Boatwright Jr . Internship ,” said Miller , “ This is the perfect opportunity to learn more about tournament administration , and I am excited to get started .”
Funded by the United States Golf Association , the P . J . Boatwright , Jr . internship program was created in memory of former USGA Executive Director of Rules and Competitions , P . J . Boatwright , Jr . 2017 will be the first year in which the CSGA has received the maximum twelve month allotment of funding from the USGA . This will also mark the first year that the CSGA will have three Boatwright interns . Monte Mullen ( seven months ) and Ian McGuiness ( three months ) interned in 2016 . Two current employees have served as Boatwright interns with the CSGA in the past . CSGA Director of Operations , Rules & Competitions , Ryan Hoffman was an ten month Boatwright intern with the CSGA in 2004 , while CSGA Director of Women ’ s Golf & Member Services , Daniela Lendl was a three month Boatwright intern in 2015 .
